Welcome back!

I know it has been a while since I posted an update. Truthfully, I am ashamed to admit but I have slacked off big time. I have used the excuse that I got sick – yes, I did – last week – I was sick for a week and I guess I got too relaxed. Sad … isn’t it? Well, last week, on Valentine’s Day as I was waiting for the kiddos get ready for a Valentine’s Day Date we were having as a family … my hubby and I were sitting infront of the TV watching some infomercial – yup, I am a sucker for those. It was an infomercial on an exercise video called Core Rhythms – kind of with Latin Twist. I was immediately sucked in as I used to love to dance when I was younger and I was pretty good at it … but that was forever years ago. Well, the testimonials of the ladies who have tried the program said that they lost 6 inches in their waist in the first few weeks and I guess I was speaking so loud when I said – “yeah right – I can do that too and lose 6 inches in a couple of weeks!” Mistake I guess (or is it?). My hubby looked at me and said – REALLY?!! Embarrassed and not wanting to take it back … I said -”Yeah, I can!” Sure enough as soon as I said that, he was on the computer ordering online.

I was a bit nervous but after a day I thought – hmmm … perhaps this is a jump start I need to really work on loosing the weight and the flabs. I wasn’t really thinking about it the next few days but today – it arrived in the mail. My daughter was so excited for me and said – “Yay mom … you can start losing the inches now.” (I know she meant well).

Well, I tried it out today and hesitantly took my measurements. I even took pictures of me – YIKES – I look so out of shape. I don’t know if I will ever have the courage to post the pictures here – it hurts to see and admit that I have really let my body go. I don’t know if I can even post my measurement here or even mention how much I currently weigh – but I wrote it down on a journal.

I followed 1 video in full (the basic one where they show you what parts you are working out and the basic moves) and started to do another video (it was called the quick workout) but was too exhausted to complete the 2nd one. A total of 45 minutes work out today – not too bad I guess. I feel tired but I thought the video was fun cause it was more dancing – I’ve always wanted to learn to latin dance and since my hubby won’t take a class with me – this is a good alternative.

I am going to do it again tomorrow and hopefully not feel frustrated with it.
